LITTLE FALLS-Veterans buried at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls will again be honored with wreaths this December.
Baxter-based organization WreathsForTheFallen.org organizes a National Remembrance Ceremony each year at the cemetery, endeavoring to "honor all our country's fallen veterans," a news release stated.
The ceremony will be 11 a.m. Dec. 17 at the cemetery located at 15550 MN-115, Little Falls. Many volunteers from Camp Ripley, the Minnesota Patriot Guard, Minnesota Civil Air Patrol, VFWs, American Legions, and other civic organizations along with hundreds of families will place the wreaths on the grave sites. Everyone is invited to come and assist in the wreath distribution.
Organizers suggested attendees plan to arrive before 10 a.m. Hot coffee, hot cider and other refreshments will be offered. The ceremony starts at 11 a.m. sharp, with wreath placement beginning at about 11:20 a.m. Due to the limited parking at the cemetery, carpooling is recommended.
With almost 500 additional interments at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in the last year, the challenge for WreathsForTheFallen.org to honor all the country's fallen veterans is greater than ever, the release stated.
