Crow Wing County Volunteer Coordinators Association recently announced Emily Gorman as Youth Volunteer of the Month for July.

Hometown: Brainerd.

Family: Parents Louis and Lori; two sisters, Allie and Erin; and brother Sean

Volunteer activities: Breath of Life, cheering for the volleyball team Central Lakes College.

I volunteer because: "I enjoy interacting with people I otherwise would not have met (Breath of Life), the participants are the reason I volunteer, seeing them enjoy their days to think I had a small part to do with that, brings joy to my heart."

My most rewarding volunteer experience is or has been: "I got to help set up a tea party. It was rewarding because I felt the ladies were back in their youth, picking a hat to wear, eating treats and just having a great time with their friends. I couldn't be more grateful that I got to share that with them."

Nominated by: Lana LeDoux, Breath of Life.
