Little Falls Community Schools confirmed its first case of COVID-19 Tuesday, May 12.

The infected individual is a staff member who last worked in the district Thursday, May 7, according to a news release posted on the district’s Facebook page Tuesday.

Lindbergh and Lincoln elementary schools, along with the middle school and early childhood facility, will be closed to the public and staff Wednesday-Friday, May 13-15, for deep cleaning.

Dr. Knight Elementary School and the high school will remain open those days.

Child care at Lindbergh and early childhood will be closed Wednesday through Friday, May 13-15. Parents of those in child care will be notified.

The district is coordinating efforts with the Minnesota Department of Health and following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The affected employee had no connection with the district’s food service program, and meals will continue to be prepared, packaged and delivered as normal.

“The district takes the safety of its students, families, staff and communities very seriously,” the news release stated. “Our response to this situation is based on using extreme caution and recommended best practices to minimize any potential harm to students, staff and families.”
