Following a day with no new cases reported in seven area counties for the first time since early May, Todd County added two laboratory-confirmed cases to its total Tuesday, June 16.

This brings the west-central Minnesota county’s total to 375 cases.

No other regional counties — including Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Mille Lacs, Morrison or Wadena — added cases Tuesday.

In a news release, Todd County Health and Human Services urged residents to remember local transmission of the virus is occurring and some people are at an increased risk for illness and death due to the coronavirus.

“While the majority of people who become infected with the virus will have mild symptoms, all residents need to take the necessary precautions to slow the spread of the virus and protect those in our communities who might be at higher risk of severe illness or death,” the release stated.
