A person in their 20s became the third Mille Lacs County resident to die from COVID-19, the Minnesota Department of Health reported Wednesday, July 22.
The county recorded one new case Wednesday as well, bringing the total up to 48. With the new death, the county's third, Mille Lacs now has the second-most recorded COVID-19 deaths in the seven-county region, behind Crow Wing County.
Crow Wing also reported another death Wednesday — a female in her 90s who died July 2 — bringing the total deaths up to 13, the county reported. Positive cases in Crow Wing County increased by three to 139.
Aitkin recorded one new case Wednesday, while other area counties remained unchanged.
