Minnesota matched its single-day record of reported COVID-19 deaths Wednesday, Nov. 25, and five area residents were among the 72 people who lost their lives.

The tally included two Aitkin County residents, ages 70-74 and 95-99; two Morrison County residents, ages 90-94 and 95-99; and a Cass County resident, age 65-69. Since Friday, 15 people in the seven-county area have died because of complications associated with COVID-19.

Crow Wing County saw another 108 cases Wednesday, pushing the county past 2,000 infections confirmed this month. November has seen 2,070 Crow Wing County residents test positive, accounting for nearly 62% of all cases reported since March. Wednesday’s numbers also revealed another eight Crow Wing County residents who’ve been hospitalized because of the disease caused by the coronavirus, bringing the total number of hospitalizations recorded since Friday to 27.

  • Aitkin — 698 (+104 since Friday, Nov. 20), with 26 (+7) deaths.

  • Cass — 1,284 (+190), with nine (+1) deaths.

  • Crow Wing — 3,349 (+440), with 31 (+3) deaths.

  • Mille Lacs — 1,416 (+215), with 30 deaths.

  • Morrison — 2,195 (+261), with 24 (+4) deaths.

  • Todd — 1,716 (+155), with 12 deaths.

  • Wadena — 737 (+99), with six deaths.
