The death of the 23rd Crow Wing County resident due to COVID-19 was among the record 56 deaths reported by the Minnesota Department of Health Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The death comes as 114 new cases of the disease in the county were confirmed along with five more hospitalizations. The latest figures mean Crow Wing County had 22 new COVID-19 hospitalizations since Friday.
The Crow Wing resident who died was a man between the ages of 80-84 years old. Also reported Wednesday was the death of a Morrison County resident, age 75-79.
In the last five days, a total of 1,252 new cases were confirmed among the seven area counties, a 22% increase bringing the total number of cases reported in the area since March to 6,935.

CRMC restricts visitors again
Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby announced Wednesday it would once again restrict visitors from its facilities.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 16, no visitors will be allowed in CRMC’s facilities except for instances of compassionate care and those must be arranged, a news release stated. Obstetrics, outpatient surgery, and emergency patients will be allowed one support person. Children and individuals requiring support may have one accompanying person.
“Please consider communicating with loved ones over the phone, video chat, e-mail or social media,” the release stated.
The Care Center and Heartwood Senior Living Community are following Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for visitation, which are based on COVID-19 testing results.
The accesses to CRMC continue to be the main entrance open 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and through the emergency department when emergency care is needed. Entrance B is open for oncology patients only 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
A simple wellness screening of symptoms will be conducted for all those entering the facility. Cuyuna Lakes Pharmacy customers are urged to call 218-545-2345 for curbside pickup or to have their medications delivered.
