Cuyuna Area Connections presents virtual mental health offerings

Jode Freyholtz-London, founder and executive director of Wellness in the Woods, will give a virtual mental health offerings presentation noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.

The presentation is intended for any older adult who has experienced stress, anxiety and deepened social isolation during the coronavirus pandemic; health care leaders; caregivers of an older adult, nursing students, work students; and others who support seniors in the community.

Topics include learning about three free virtual mental health support resources, how to network with seniors and mental health leaders who support underserved communities throughout the state and hearing personal stories of hope, recovery, and resiliency.

Crow Wing County partnered with Cuyuna Area Connections on the event “to help remove boundaries, build networks and provide education to sustain independence for aging community members and caregivers,” a news release stated.

Cuyuna Area Connections is one of four pilot programs in Minnesota of the Silos to Circles Age Well Initiative.
