Lakewood Health System now offers a pain clinic for the treatment of chronic pain in all patients. Areas treated for pain include mid- and lower back, neck, shoulder, knee, hip, head and muscle.

A team approach is utilized for a full, comprehensive evaluation, along with education and treatment options. Patients are seen by a certified nurse practitioner specially trained in chronic pain management. If a procedure is recommended, patients are seen by an interventionalist who performs the procedure at Lakewood.

“We’re excited to be able to offer these pain treatment services at Lakewood,” stated Stacey Sauve, director of surgery, in a news release.

The pain clinic offers personalized treatment plans, coordinated care within an individualized care team, diagnostic options, proven treatments, follow-up care, education and access to a nurse hotline. Pain management procedures include but are not limited to image-guided spinal and joint injections, trigger point injections and radiofrequency ablations.

“They will give our patients more options for the relief of pain associated with so many things, such as cancer, injury or just wear and tear. No one wants to live with pain, so we wanted to provide treatments to help with that,” Sauve stated.
