Paynesville police officer arrested after domestic assault report

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – A Paynesville police officer was taken into custody in Stearns County after being accused in a domestic assault reported at 2:10 a.m. Friday.

Stearns County sheriff’s officers placed Nathan Johnson under arrest at the residence. He was booked at the Stearns County Jail on charges of fifth-degree assault and misdemeanor domestic assault and will remain in custody until a Monday, Jan. 7, court appearance.

The St. Cloud Times reported that Johnson has worked for the Paynesville Police Department since 2016.
