Buckman 12, Flensburg 1

FLENSBURG-Andrew Rueckert went 3-4 with a pair of RBIs and a stolen base for the Buckman Billygoats who exploded for 10 runs in the final two innings and defeated the Flensburg Falcons 12-1 in non-division play Sunday, June 16.

Matt Tautges, Lane Girtz and Matt Kummet all doubled and had two hits for Buckman. Winning pitcher Shawn Lanners singled twice. He went seven innings and allowed seven of Flensburg's 10 hits and only run.

Buckman 12, Royalton 1

BUCKMAN-Lane Girtz doubled and finished 3-4 for the Buckman Billygoats who won their second 12-1 game of the day, this time in seven innings over the Royalton Riverdogs Sunday, June 16, in a East Division game.

Winning pitcher Mark Kahl also went 3-4 with a sacrifice and an RBI. He struck out five and allowed two hits over five shutout innings before giving the mound to Andrew Rueckert for the final two innings.

Matt Tautges, Shawn Lanners, Travis Kahl and Rueckert had two hits apiece for the Billygoats who lead the division with an 8-1 record.

Fort Ripley 4, St. Mathias 0

ST. MATHIAS-Logan Kalis struck out seven, walked two and allowed just three hits over eight innings in a 4-0 shutout for the Fort Ripley Rebels over the St. Mathias Devils in a North Division game Sunday, June 16.

Bill Sather went 2-4 with a home run and two RBIs for the division leading Rebels. Ethan Branum also homered and Brad Waytashek had two hits.

Brewers 7, Lakers 6

PIERZ-Maverick Kowalczyk singled in the top of the ninth, stole second and scored what would be the winning run on a Jesse Marshik single for the Pierz Brewers who upset the Pierz Lakers 7-6 in an East Division game Sunday, June 16.

It was the first win of the season for the Brewers. The Lakers had entered the weekend undefeated and leading the division before losing 6-2 to Buckman Friday.

Cody Kimman's two-run doubled keyed a three-run fifth inning for the Brewers. Mike Poser drove in two runs with a single in the top of the eighth and Ryan Stuckmayer singled in a third run.

Poser picked up the win tossing 2 2/3 innings of relief. Kimman, the fourth pitcher of the game for the Brewers, earned a saved as he shutdown the Lakers with one hit in the ninth.

The Brewers pitching got some key defensive help as they turned four 6-4-3 double plays in the game.

Luke Girtz and Reese Kapsner both finished 2-4 with doubles for the Lakers and Brad Meyer also had two hits.

Sobieski 11, Swanville 1

SOBIESKI-Dan Marod homered, doubled and stole two bases while going 2-3 to lead the Sobieski Skis in an eight-inning 11-1 win over the Swanville Swans Sunday, June 16, in a West Division game.

Thomas Miller got the win as four different Sobieski pitchers combined to limit the Swans to three hits.

Dusty Parker and Collin Eckman also doubled for the division leading Skis. Miller, Chris Reller and Zach Opatz finished with two hits each.

AITKIN-Brian Burman went 3-4 with a double for the Aitkin Steam in a seven-inning 15-2 loss to the St. Stephen Steves Sunday, June 16, in non-division play.

Jon Blanchette was 2-4 with a double for the Steam and Jeff Lehrke singled twice.

Upsala 3, Bulldogs 1

UPSALA-Brandon Dickmann's lead-off, solo homer in the top of the fifth accounted for the Pierz Bulldogs' only run in a 3-1 loss to the Upsala Blue Jays in a non-division game Sunday, June 16.

Dylan Kummet, Ryan Foreman, Craig Luberts and Dickmann collected multiple hits for the Bulldogs.
