Myrtle Louise Nelson, age 93, passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday December 29, 2014 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, MN. Myrtle was born on April 7, 1921 in Lynchberg, VA to Raleigh and Rosa (Schultz) Mays. Myrtle married Robert Nelson and together they had four children. Myrtle is survived by her children Pat Nelson, Brainerd, MN; Linda (Wally) DePoppe, Graham, WA; sister-in-law, Margaret Mays, Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Christopher DePoppe, Enumclaw, MN; Jeffrey DePoppe, Grandview, WA; Dawn DePoppe, Tacoma, WA; Tanya Soholt, Cape Coral, FL; Trista Kincaid, Dublin, GA; 12 great-grandchildren. Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Becky Giese; Colleen Nelson. Services for Myrtle will be held on Friday January 2, 2015 at 11AM at Heritage Assembly of God Church, Baxter, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 1, 2015 from 4-6PM at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home-BRAINERD CHAPEL and also one hour prior to the service, Friday, at the church. Luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd, MN. Arrangements made by Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home, Brainerd, MN
