Brainerd man buried in avalanche dies in New Mexico hospital

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph "Joe-Joe" Leon Cannon announces his passing, Tuesday, March 6th 2018.

Joe was born in Butte, Montana September 25th 1990, to Lisa Brown and Rodney Cannon. From a young age, he loved the outdoors and heights. Showing his fearless side, he loved to climb and if there was a cliff near, you would find Joe peering over. His kindness was astounding, he genuinely cared about others, always putting them first. His handsome looks, charming personality and unique sense of humor was able to brighten any room. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Joe, loved him. He is missed dearly but heaven is now brighter.

He is survived by his parents Lisa Brown of Minnesota and Rodney Cannon of Idaho, grandmother Judie Brown of Montana, sister Crystal (Corey) Blanar of Florida, brothers Gene Cannon of Minnesota; Jordan Cannon of Minnesota, half-brother Mike Garcia of Washington, half-sisters Sonja Garcia of Montana; Angel Garcia of Montana, aunts and uncles Wendy and Julius Hall of Montana; Richard and Rachel Brown of Montana; Jody and Denise Brown of New York; Tim and Vonda Hall of Minnesota; Mary and Martin Grendahl of Minnesota; Barb and Jim Pospeh of Minnesota; Ron and Maryann Sletten of Montana, nieces Cadence; Cloey; Crystin, nephew Corey Jr, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandparents, Ralph and Myrtle Sletten of Minnesota, Grandfather, Richard Brown of Butte, Montana, Grandmother Bettie Hall of Montana, Uncle, Lanny Holm of Butte, Montana, Aunt Doris Hall of Minnesota, Cousin, Ryan Hall of Montana.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on June 22nd at 1 p.m. at Loren Thompson Park, Baxter, MN.
