April 10, 2019
Richard Thomas Endres was born in July of 1956. As a child he grew up on Gilbert Lake and had many adventures. From tricking a brother into eating an alive frog to almost burning the house down. As a young man he became more and more interested in figuring out how things worked. He jimmy rigged an appliance motor to his peddle bike along with completely dismantling his parent's vehicle engine while they were away. It had to be towed in the end. His family moved to Brainerd in the late 70s. Rick married. While the marriage was short, they had 2 girls. Although Richard didn't finish high school, he knew the importance of determination. He applied for a job at Dondelingers and went in daily to ask about it. Eventually they gave it to him, he stayed there about 16 years. During that time, he was busy raising 2 girls on his own. He hosted many parties; memories of the Gull Dam Jammers and the Wild Kingdom will not soon be forgotten. He moved to Missouri and remarried. In the short-lived relationship, he went on many cruises and had little financial stress. He worked on restoring a very old house and living the small-town life. When Rick moved back to Brainerd in the early 2000s. He found work at different printing places in the area and enjoyed connecting with old friends. Over the years he had touched many lives and left many memories. His smile and laughter will carry with us a long time.
