Albert Maine

Albert Duane Maine went home to his Heavenly Father on October 2, 2020. He was born into this world in Pine River, MN to Laura and Hiram Maine on October 27, 1941, one of 6 children. He graduated from Pine River Schools and went on to marry Ruth Swanson on October 7, 1961. Together they had 5 children. They bought his family’s farmland and raised dairy cows for many years until finally turning it over to beef production. During this time Albert worked for Standard Lumber (now Pro-Build) in Pequot Lakes for 26 years.

Albert faithfully served his Lord at Pleasant Hill Church, along with helping his friends and neighbors. He was a hard-working Christian who also loved his family. Together, Albert and Ruth raised their 4 sons and 1 daughter on the family homestead. They tended the cows, put up hay, planted and harvested their garden and canned so much of their bounty every fall. Dad loved making his special cookies that he would hide until the kids and grandkids found them. Then he would have to find a new spot for them.

Albert is missed greatly by his love of 59 years, Ruth; his children: Robert (Jackie), Staples, MN, Rose (George) Holt, Cambridge, MN, Mark, Pequot Lakes, MN, Albert Jr. (Jeannie) Pequot Lakes, MN, Wendell (Adeline), Pequot Lakes, MN; 17 grandchildren and spouses; 4 step grand-children; 5 great grandchildren; 3 step great grand-children; brothers, Dale (Betty), Winnebago, MN, Horton (Jackie), Crosslake, MN; sister, Carol Hines, Ellsworth, WI; sisters-in-law, Dedo Maine, Fridley, MN, Marion Maine, Pequot Lakes, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins and all of his brothers and sisters-in-law and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Boyd and Westal.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, October 9 at Pleasant Hill Church, rural Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
