Betty Lou Hanson

Betty Lou Hanson passed away on March 28, 2020 at Edgewood Vista in Baxter. Betty was born September 8, 1930 to Ezra and Frances (Myers) Kruger in Pequot Lakes, Mn.

She married Robert M. Hanson Feb. 4, 1947. They had 5 children, David, Nancy, Bonnie, Gregory & Peggy.

Bob and Betty opened Bob Hanson Electric, Inc. in 1964 and were in business for over 30 years. Betty was always Bob’s right hand – from being a helper to doing all the bookwork and billing for the business. They lived in Cinosam for 47 years.

She’ll be sadly missed by family and friends. Betty spent the last 6 years at Excelsior Place/Edgewood Vista and she made many friends. She loved everyone there. Betty shared her love of Jesus with all her friends and family.

Betty is survived by her children David (Cathy) of South Carolina, Nancy (Paul) Schmidt of Jenkins, Bonnie (Bruce) Toftness of Brainerd, Peggy (Tim) Holtz of Brainerd. She is leaving behind seventeen grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2013, her son Gregory in 2002 and her parents.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements with Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ossipee Community Church.

The family extends special thanks to Edgewood Vista, Knute Nelson Hospice and Essentia Health for the excellent care of their mother.
