Bonnie Carlson

Bonnie Carlson was born December 28, 1948 in Brainerd, MN to Bennie Johnson and Thelma Swelland. She attended the country schoolhouse east of town through the 4th grade. Bonnie had a kind heart and was quite the social butterfly.

She married Allen Carlson in 1968 and they had two daughters, Cynthia and Lori. She worked many years in the banking industry and most recently she was passionate about her work as a Home Instead caregiver. She experienced immense job satisfaction knowing that she was really making a difference in her clients’ lives.

She thanked the Lord for granting her sobriety over the last 7 years. Her AA friendships were invaluable to her and really helped to sustain and keep her on the right path.

Her family is grateful for the time they had with her. They will miss her kindness and fun-loving ways.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survived by her sisters, Jeanette Warburton and Marilyn Greiger; brother, Roger (Jane) Johnson; daughters, Cindie Goedker and Lori (Mike) Carlson; granddaughter, Kaycee Goedker; grandson, Alex Goedker; great granddaughter, Oakley Balsimo; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11AM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery
