Dale Carter

Dale William Carter, age 83, of Brainerd passed away at his home on Wednesday June 23, 2021. Dale was born in Brainerd to John & Ludo (Wilson) Carter on March 2, 1938. He married Marion Jensen on October 25, 1958, and they raised their family in Brainerd. Dale started his career working for Meyers Laundry. Then owned and operated Carter’s Barber Shop, after many years of business he closed the shop and became an assessor for Crow Wing County, where he retired. He also served on the Crow Wing Advisory Board of Adjustments and volunteered for the Brainerd Fire Department. Dale loved the outdoors and spent endless hours fishing and hunting, both deer and pheasants. The family also had a hobby farm, which required lots of time outdoors doing chores. He was always lucky at pull tabs. In his later years, Dale enjoyed sitting at the dining room table and watching the birds, deer and wild turkeys.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Marion; daughter, Lauri Carter; son, Jon (Tara Danger) Carter; grandchildren; Derek (Samantha Harting) Carter, Seth (Halee Goodrich) Carter, Amanda Oehrlein, Carissa Oehrlein and Anna Pflepsen; great grandsons; Bronson, Beau and Briggs.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Deanne Carter, infant Susan Rose Carter; sister, Marian Cooper; brother, Homer Carter.

A memorial service for Dale will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. www.halvorsontaylor.com
