Dean Lester Lageson

Dean Lester Lageson, age 76, Brainerd, died Sunday, December 1st at his residence in Brainerd. Dean’s service details are pending.

Dean was born on September 16, 1943 in Minneapolis, son of Lester and Ina (Nordberg) Lageson. He grew up in Columbia Heights and Robbinsdale, graduating from Robbinsdale High School in 1961. He attended the Minnesota School of Business in downtown Minneapolis, where he majored in accounting/bookkeeping. Following graduation, he worked for Midland Co-Op in their corporate offices in Fridley, Midland was acquired by Land O Lakes and later by Cenex. Dean worked in the Cenex Corporate Office in Inver Grove Heights, until his retirement in 1999. He received training as a tax accountant from H&R Block and had also worked in tax preparation. He and his parents moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area in October 2000, Dean moved to Northern Lights in Brainerd in 2010.

Dean was passionate about fishing, the Twins, the Vikings, the Gophers, the local Brainerd Warriors athletics teams and most any Minnesota sports team, as evidenced by his collections of memorabilia. He was known for his compassionate concern for others, plus his ability to tell a good corny joke or two.

Dean is survived by his sister: Susan (Mark) Lundholm of Palatine, IL; their children: Karl Lundholm and Alina Lundholm; nieces: Cindy Jackson and Heidi Holtan; nephews: Tim Holtan and Keith Holtan; many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lester and Ina Lageson; his sister: Sheila Holtan; and brother-in-law: Bert Holtan.
