Derrill “Ole” Holland

Derrill Gene Holland passed away on November 4, 2020 at the age of 90.

Derrill was born on  November 19, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Derrill was the second son of Edward and Genevieve Holland. 

Derrill was a Roosevelt High School graduate and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota. He was a lifelong Gophers fan. 

He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. 

Derrill was happily married to Marilyn for 67 years, who recently passed away. The family moved to Brainerd in 1967 after purchasing Triangle Oil Company. 

Derrill retired in 1994 and spent many winters in Fort Myers, Florida. He enjoyed yard work, boating, golf, and spending time with his family and friends. He spent many retirement years volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. 

Derrill is survived by his brother Ev (Shari) Holland. He is also survived by three sons, Craig (Nancy), Todd (Eileen), and Brad (Anne), all of Brainerd. He enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Sadly, his grandson Matthew preceded him in death. 

Arrangement are being made by Nelson Doran. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial preferred to Habitat for Humanity.
