Elizabeth L. Babinski

Elizabeth L. Babinski (88) passed away on November 13th, 2020 in her home in Nisswa, MN surrounded by family. A private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Nisswa. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Elizabeth was born on November 13th, 1932 to Heggie and Amanda Engrebretson in Minneapolis, MN. She went to University in Minneapolis where she graduated in business and worked for many years as an accountant. She was married to Donald Babinski on December 1st, 1951. Elizabeth went on to have two children, John, and Janice. The family lived in Fridley, MN for many years and then went on to live in Nisswa, MN where they shared their time between there and Naples, FL. She enjoyed to cook/bake and would often spend hours doing so and had pages of her own recipes. She also loved gardening, sometimes she would be out all day. She was especially fond of orchids which she won many awards through the Naples Orchid Society for her skill in growing and caring for them. A true testament to her patience and nurturing of the often-difficult flower. In recent years Elizabeth carried out her husband’s dream to create the Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter which will remain their greatest legacy.
Survivors include her grandchildren; Amanda Babinski, Elizabeth Briant, Donald Snyders, John Babinski, Ryan Babinski, and her beloved best fur friend Sammi. She is preceded in death by her husband, her son John, daughter Janice, parents, and 4 siblings (3 sisters and 1 brother).
