Harold R. Kitchen

After just celebrating his 100th birthday on March 30th this year, Harold passed away in his sleep on June 1st 2020.  Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella, and by his son-in-law, John M. Harvey. He is survived by his children Jim (Cheryl) Kitchen, Darlene Harvey, and Bill (Diane) Kitchen, seven granddaughters, Laura Ooley, Lisa Martin, Renee Borrell, Tracy Boarder, Megan Stifter, Erin Vining, Andrea Tellinghuisen, and many great grandchildren. Harold was a US Navy World War II veteran, who served in a support role during the Iwo Jima invasion.  After the war, Harold raised his family in Minneapolis working for the US Post Office and as a meat cutter.  After retiring he and Marcella lived in the Nisswa area on Pelican Lake.  Harold was an avid woodworker, building several cabins and all types of furniture in his โ€œWood Stuffโ€ hobby business. A private family service will be held with Internment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
