Hugo Joseph Heino

Hugo Joseph Heino of Baxter passed away April 11, 2020. 

He was born June 15, 1927, the last of 10 children to Joseph and Selma Heino. Homesteaded west of Pine River about 1900. Joseph was from Finland, Selma from Sweden. 

Hugo worked putting in the first telephone line for Arvig in the 1940s in Pequot Lakes. He worked putting in underground telephone all over northern Minnesota in the late 1960s. He and his wife spent 38 years working at a park in Florida. 

He married Carol Gross July 31, 1950. They have three children: Margery Cox (Steve Pohle), Newport News. Va.; Bradley (Joy), Oneonta, Ala.; and Cathilene (Jay) DeRosier, Brainerd; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
