Ione Kunde

Ione Lorraine Kunde, age 95, of Brainerd, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Ione was born on June 9, 1925 in Brainerd to Adolph (Ed) and Mabel (Peterson) Jelacie. She was educated in the Brainerd schools, graduating from Washington High School with the class of 1943. Ione then went to work for the Brainerd Daily Dispatch for 5 years. She married Duane Kunde on October 18, 1947 at the First Presbyterian Church. She served her church as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and deacon. At the time of her death, Ione was the longest attending member of her church, 80 years!

Ione was a stay at home mom to their two children, Daniel D. (Victoria) Kunde, Sr and Joan (Paul) Haff; grandsons, Daniel Kunde, Jr, Mitchell (Candace) Kunde, Erik (Heidi) Haff, Aaron (Melissa) Haff and Jeremey haff; 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother in law, Carney Kunde and sister in law, Marion Jelacie.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Duane; brother, Jack Jelacie; brother in law, Gordon Kunde; sister in law, Mary Helen Kunde; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
