James Carl Schlief

James Carl Schlief, 88, of Brainerd, MN, went to be with his Lord and Savior December 18, 2019. He was born March 26, 1931, in West Concord, MN, to Carl and Zelma (Franklin) Schlief. Jim was a 20 year veteran of the US Navy and had his own pension brokerage business for over 40 years.

Jim is survived by Rosalie, his wife of 55 years, four children: Kathleen (Stephen) Upgren of St. Joseph, MN; James (Michelle Hartse) Schlief Jr. of Monticello, MN; David (Valdee) Schlief of Sauk Rapids, MN; and Donna (Keith) Knicker of Ramsey, MN; ten beloved grandchildren, eight great grand-children and two sisters.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Chase Schlief, and two sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 3, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Baxter, MN, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at the MN State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
