Janice Hamrick 1933-2020

Janice E. Hamrick (Sorenson), age 86, was born in Warren, MN, and died July 22, 2020, in Hudson, WI. She married Marwood “Marv” Hamrick in 1953. They moved to Cottage Grove, MN, where Marv owned a real estate company and Jan worked as his bookkeeper. Upon his retirement in 1982, they moved to the Brainerd Lakes area. Janice was a member of the Nisswa Women’s Club and loved travel, gardening, and singing with the choir at Lutheran Church of the Cross. Not long after Marv’s death in 1996, she moved back to the Twin Cities area.  Janice was preceded in death by her husband Marwood, parents Jens and Bessie Sorenson, siblings Jack, Connie Brooks, Delone Riopelle, and grandson Anthony Miller. Survived by daughters Vicki (Bruce) Strong of Woodbury, Diana Hamrick of Woodbury, and Lisa Hamrick of Brainerd, 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 siblings, June Turnlund, Calvin Sorenson  and Pamela Witkosky. Family graveside service at Melo Lutheran Church, Angus, MN, with gathering in Warren, MN, at a date TBD. Donations to Nisswa Women’s Club, Lutheran Church of the Cross, or donors choice. Arrangements through Cremation Society of Minnesota.
