Janice Ellen Lee, age 80, of Pequot Lakes, passed away at her home on June 14, 2021. She was born to Lyle and Ellen Davis on September 28, 1940, in Brainerd.

Jan graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Social Work in 1984. She was a former member of the Brainerd Art Club. Jan was very active in her church where she taught Sunday School and led several Bible Study groups. She was also an active member of the Gideon Society Auxiliaries, where she held several leadership positions. She felt she had a special mission to those who were shut-ins, corresponding with them and visiting them in nursing homes and at their homes.

Jan had a wide variety of interests and hobbies. She enjoyed singing, participating in productions of Handel’s Messiah, and singing duets at church with her beloved husband, Ralph. Jan liked to paint landscapes and still-life paintings and also liked to knit and crochet. Finally, she was a collector of antiques and liked to restore them.

Jan is survived by her son, Vincent Hurtig (Lisa); brother, Kelly Davis; grandchildren: Michael, Ellen, and Jennifer Hurtig, two great-grandchildren; several step-children and step-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Lee; sister, Nancy Anderson, and brother, Larry Davis.

Services will be 11 AM on Wednesday, June 23, at Church of the Nazarene in Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes.
