John & Pat Taray

A celebration of the lives of John Taray and Blanche “Pat” Taray of Pine River, will take place at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 29, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass, with luncheon following.

John Taray, age 94, passed away on November 13, 2020. He was born July 7, 1926, in St. Paul, MN. John worked as a carpenter and farmer. Pat Taray, age 92, passed away on March 30, 2021. She was born December 28, 1928, in St Paul, MN. Pat was a homemaker and worked for the Girl Scouts as Service Unit Manager and Field Director.

John and Pat married in 1948 and had 8 children. They are survived by 7 of their children: Cathy Bular, Jim Taray, Dave Taray, Dick Taray (Deb), Margie Erickson (Wayne), Carol Edgeton, Sue Nordquist (Jay); 20 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren. John is also survived by his sister, Lucy Nesheim (Frank) of Brainerd. They were preceded in death by their son, Steve.

John and Pat were married for 72 years. They were wonderful parents and grandparents, who lived full lives. Family celebrations were large, with plenty of food, fun and photos. Faith in God, family, hard work and travel were their priorities.
