Joseph I. Thesing

Joseph Ignatz Thesing, age 94, of Brainerd, died on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society – Bethany.

He was born on June 17, 1926 in Fort Ripley to John and Lena (Ditch) Thesing. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1945-1947. He married Betty Nelson on December 31, 1951 in Minneapolis.

Joseph is survived by his stepchildren, Raymond Duquenne and Betty Nilson; two brothers, Paul and Peter Thesing; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lois DeRosier.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; son, Joseph Thesing Jr.; and daughter, JoLena Beeson; two sisters, Marina and Florence; and three brothers, Leander, Ambrose and Raymond.

A graveside service will take place at St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St. Mathias Catholic Church.

Arrangements have been completed by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
