Marcella “Marcy” Eskierka

Marcella Eskierka, age 93, a resident of Nisswa, MN died of complications from COVID 19 on June 3.

Marcy grew up on a farm outside of Plummer, MN. Shortly after WWII, she left home for the big city of Minneapolis, where she found work as a teller at the First Minneapolis Bank. She worked in various capacities for the organization (later to become US Bancorp) for more than 40 years. She retired and relocated to Nisswa where she enjoyed 20 years of North Country living.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Walter.

She is survived by three children, Laurie Walsh, Karen Birr, and Jeffrey (Karla) Eskierka; eight grandchildren Jeff (Audra), Adam (Tiffany), Aaron (Maryse), Seana (Rob), Kevin (Illaly), Megan (Axel), Katlin, and Maxwell; four great grandchildren Chloe, Emma, Asher, and Caius; brother Tom Doran (Marguerite), and many nieces and nephews.

Services at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd on Monday June 8 at 11:30, followed by burial at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
