Jeffery K. Smith

Jeffery Kent Smith, 81, of Baxter, MN died July 21, 2022 at his home surrounded by family after  a long battle with cancer. He was the oldest of four children born to William and Regina Smith  on July 21, 1941 in Little Falls, MN. He graduated from Brainerd High School and St. Cloud  State University with a degree in business education. Jeff’s teaching career spanned nearly 40  years. He retired from Central Lakes College in 2001. Jeff enjoyed sports, fishing and, in later  years, attending flea markets to buy and sell antiques. He cherished his family and especially  loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jeff is survived by LuAnn, his wife of nearly 57  years, three children; Lisa (Steve) Drietz of Baxter, MN, Kelly (Bob) Green of Chapin, SC, and  Kyle (Gretchen) Smith of Maple Grove, MN, eight grandchildren and three siblings; Jack

(Gaylene) Smith, Penny Johnson and Tami Lu Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents,

William and Regina, and brother-in-law, Carl Johnson. Please, in lieu of flowers, memorial

contributions may be made to the Central Lakes College Foundation. Funeral services will be  held at 11 am, July 28, 2022 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN. Visitation begins  one hour prior to the funeral.
