Richard A. Aykens, age 84 of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2022. Known for his love of his hometown Brainerd, vintage cars needing a little TLC, a well-played golf match followed by a beer, a thick slice of bacon from Thielen’s and pets with unusual names, Richard will be missed by his wife Joan, Joan’s family - particularly Pat Rankin and his wife Mary, his children Pam (Tom) Kerber, Beth (Joe) Simms, Leah Sworm, Peter (Jenny) Aykens, his step-children Britta (Bob) Jicks, Pete (Jena) Peterson, and his many granchildren.

A celebrations of Richard’s life will be held in Brainerd this fall. Details to follow.
