Ronald A. Krzak
Ronald Adam Krzak, age 82, of Baxter, Minn., passed away peacefully at Northern Lakes Senior Living facility on Monday, January 24, 2022. He was born on February 2, 1939, in Dearborn, Michigan. He was an only child and proud of his 100% Polish lineage.
On August 12, 1978, Ron married Jean E. Weaver in Lansing, Mich. and they spent forty-four wonderful years together. Most of their life was spent in Dewitt, Michigan where they made their home. They chose to change up the scenery leaving the cold behind and spent twelve years in the desert of Kingman, Ariz., before returning to the Midwest in 2017 and calling the Brainerd Lakes Area in Minn. home.
Ron helped at his parents’ motel when he was young and then eventually after his high school graduation in 1957, he received his barber’s license in 1962 from the Detroit Barber school and became a barber in St. John’s, Mich. for ten years. He changed his career to become a Meter Reader at Consumer Energy and worked his way up to a Gas Service Technician where he held this position for 26 years before his retirement in 1998.
Ron always had the biggest smile! He also had a huge heart and was very caring, friendly, fun-loving and a genuine kind soul. Family and friends were especially important to him too. He cherished the memories of time spent laughing and sharing at many family gatherings. He enjoyed lots of travel adventures as a tour guide with the country cruiser. He could usually be found on a park bench enjoying the view and visiting with anyone he could talk too. He loved to have his back scratched and asked everyone he came in contact with. He liked to read newspapers, magazines and Consumer Reports. He loved getting mail and subscribed to all personalized promotional marketing sales. He was fascinated with cars and trucks due to growing up in the Detroit automotive industry. He was enthusiastic about sports and bled green as a big Michigan State Spartan basketball, football, and hockey fan with season tickets. He was active on a bowling league with neighbors. He was a collector of sorts or a gadget guy some might say as he had several of certain things like hats, leatherman’s and more tools than one man could ever use. Beside Spartan green, his favorite color was blue and was evident by looking in his closet. He was a night owl and enjoyed movies of all kinds, especially old westerns, and reruns of Gunsmoke. He loved to take road trips and travel Route 66, mostly in search of the best diners and desserts. He was passionate about food, and he loved to go out to eat. His favorites were Applebee’s, Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel, Perkins, and any buffet was a real treat. He loved blueberry pie, pizza, popcorn, and Payday candy bars. He liked to drink cranberry juice, diet Snapple peach tea, Nestle flavored water and Vernors.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Sandy Kosloski of Clearwater, FL; sons, Bruce (Kelli) Weaver of Breezy Point, Minn., and Brad (Tina) Weaver of Tucson, Ariz.
Ron is now at peace joining his parents; mother, Mary and father, Adam who preceded him in death.
