Paul H. Driscoll
VIROQUA, Wis. -- Paul H. Driscoll, 87, Viroqua, Wis., formerly of Brainerd, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Viroqua.
He was born May 5, 1913, in Iowa. He graduated from Morningside College. He was a a life member of the "M" Club. He taught high school social studies and coached football, basketball and track teams in Sanborn, Iowa, Brookings, S.D., Madison and Clarkfield. He was honored at the Minnesota State Fair as a Yellow Medicine County Teacher of the Year. He was in the Iowa National Guard. He later served as a councilman and mayor of Clarkfield. In 1970, he ran as an Independent Republican for the Minnesota state Legislature. He was an active member of the Grand Lodge of Minnesota Masons for 59 years where he served as Worshipful Master and Commander of the Commandry. He was an Eastern Star Worthy Patron for many years. He was currently a member of the Brainerd Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Vida; three sons, Robert, Clarkfield, Charles, Viroqua, and John, New York; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be announced later.
