Paul R. Skalman

Paul, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his home in East Gull Lake.

Paul was born on July 17, 1932 to Merrill and Sadie (Lundberg) in Wadena. He enlisted in the army after graduation and served for 2 years. After returning from the service, he married Mabel Politiske on June 2, 1956. He joined his father at the music store, where he eventually became the sole business owner of Skalman Music Store. He was also a volunteer firefighter on the Wadena Fire Department for 20 years.

Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mabel; his children, Jeff and Brenda; three grandchildren, Staci, Kayla (Adam) and Nick; and great grandchildren, three identical triplets, Brooklyn, Mackenzie and Zoey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrill and Sadie; his siblings, Betty and Warren; and his sister-in-law, Carol.

A visitation will be on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd. Private family interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Little Falls.
