Richard “Dick” Bordwell

Richard A. “Dick” Bordwell, 64 of Nokay Lake Township passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021 at his home with family by his side. He was born on March 30, 1956 in Brainerd to Adolph and Shirley (Raddatz) Bordwell. Dick was an employee for the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation with 35 years of service and for many years he owned and operated Dick’s Septic Pumping.

Dick treasured the time he spent with his grandkids, whether it be spending time outdoors or having the Friday pizza night. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved to hunt and fish, and loved camping and traveling with family and friends.

Dick is survived by his wife, Garnette; his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Andy) Goble of Brainerd; his grandchildren, Keira, Beyla and Ezra; his mother, Shirley Holbrook of Brainerd; one brother, Danny (girl friend, Angie Larson) Bordwell; Father-in-law, Ronald (Marie) DeRosier of Fort Ripley; brothers-in-law, Jack DeRosier and Jeff (Julie) DeRosier of Fort Ripely; sisters-in-law, Kris (Todd) Sandman of Sioux Falls, SD and Roxanne (Bob) Koering of Fort Ripely; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dick in death are his son, Jamie; his father, Adolph “A.D.”; step father, Robert Holbrook; and mother-in-law, Audrey DeRosier.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Nokay Lake Township. A visitation will be held at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
