Robert Allen Anderson, 59, of Brainerd, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, in his home on Sunday, April 26, 2020.

Bob was born on August 30, 1960, in Brainerd, the son of Robert and Doris (Wernsing) Anderson.

Bob was loved by many in the community. He began his career working for Central Minnesota Community Corrections in 1989. He retired as a Probation Agent for Crow Wing County after serving 27 years. Following his retirement, Bob continued working for the Brainerd School District. Bob served for nearly 22 years on the Brainerd Fire Department before retiring in 2018 as revered member of the Brainerd Fire Family. Bob started with the department in 1996 as a Paid On-Call Firefighter. He went on to rise through the ranks becoming a Captain, and eventually Battalion Chief, a position he held for 8 years. In 2007, Bob was named Brainerd Fire Fighter of the Year. Bob enjoyed his time serving the community and loved his Community Corrections and Brainerd Fire families.

Bob is remembered by many for his humor and storytelling, often leaving others laughing as a result of his experiences. He is remembered by his children for his unconditional love, tireless work ethic, and quick wit, as well as a temper that was less than lengthy.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Doris and his nephew, Michael Thul, a proud member of the Law Enforcement Family.

He is survived by his loving children, Nick and Rylie (Kyle Dukowitz); sister, Barb (Richard Thul); and many other loving friends and family members.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
