Robert M. Dunbar

Robert M. Dunbar, 85, of Merrifield, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Services will be held at a later date with interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.

Robert was born January 18, 1936, in Crosby, MN, the son of Harry and Erma (Buchite) Dunbar. After high school, Bob began working at Potlatch. He held many positions from janitor to machinist. He retired after 38 years of service. In 1957, he married Una Katzenberger. The couple raised four children together. Bob and Una worked hard to keep a large garden on their property. The fruits of that labor were often shared with the family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to ice fish and hunt. Bob also had a big, sweet tooth. He will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Una; children, Tam (Brian) Bade, DeAnna Paschall, Gene Dunbar, and Shawn Dunbar; grandchildren, Melissa, Jason, David, Brittany, James, Ashley, Alyssa, and Jordan; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Sam Dunbar; and sister, Rosemarie Matros.
