Robert Michael Lund

Robert (Mike) Lund, 72, died Friday, February 7th at the CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. He was born on February 22, 1947 to Robert and Bernice (Schellinger) Lund in Brainerd, MN. where he lived most of his life.

Following three years of college at St. Cloud State of MN., Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served on active duty for two years.

He was employed as a caregiver with the State of MN. for 28 years before retiring in 2009 for health reasons. He always loved working with the clients and his fellow staff and made work shifts fun. That is also where he met his future wife Paula in 1989 and married on May 21, 1991 in Rapid City, SD.

Mike will be remembered as a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor. His passion for animals was shared with his wife Paula so their home has always been filled with many beloved pets.

Mike is survived by his wife Paula, sister Kathy Jokela, niece Melissa Lund and her daughters Lindsey and Cameron and niece Alison Jokela. Also his step daughter Jenny (Jason) Malusky and their children Matthew and Mya, and stepson Jon (Cara) Sell and their son Brandon.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Bernice, a step grandson Marc Malusky and an infant daughter of his niece Melissa (Rachel). 

He will be dearly missed and always remembered. He will be honored in a private memorial service.
