Roger Williams

Roger Lansing Williams, resident of the Brainerd Lakes area, passed away in his home on Oct 26th, 2019 at the age of 77. He is survived by Sons-Randy and Steve; Daughter-Kristen Priest and longtime companion Diane (Annie) Berning. Also, Grandsons-Alex, Miles and Isaiah and Granddaughters-Allison and Violet. Preceded in death by Grandson Logan. An informal service will be held in Brainerd, MN at the Brainerd Snodeos Club building at 1002 Madison St., on Dec. 14, 2019, between 3 – 5 pm. Roger grew up in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from Southwest Highschool in 1960. His passion was electronics and experimenting with Amateur (HAM) radios. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, in 1966, he landed a teaching position in the Electronics Department at the Willmar Vocational Technical College (Vo-Tech). He retired to Brainerd MN after 39 years of teaching. In retirement, Roger enjoyed many years of snowmobiling, ATV riding and “rag chewing” with his HAM radio buddies, as well as attending club events for those activities.
