Russell L. Hildebradt

Russell Lee Hildebrandt passed away peacefully at The Pillars Hospice House in Oakdale, MN, on June 23rd at age 77 surrounded by family. He was born April 7, 1944, in Brainerd, MN, to Lee and Veona Hildebrandt.

While Russ grew up in the Brainerd area, he really enjoyed spending several summers at his grandparents’ farm in North Dakota.

Russ was an avid fisherman and hunter, and one of his favorite pastimes was watching sports. He enjoyed food and fellowship with family to whom he was very generous and dearly loved. He had a hardy laugh and was a joy to be around. Russ retired as a millwright from the Millwright And Machinery Erectors Local Union No. 548 of the Twin Cities. He spent most of his retirement years living in Pierz, MN.

Russell is survived by his first wife Peggy Hildebrandt and their sons: Russ (Kandy) Hildebrandt and Timothy Hildebrandt; 3 grandchildren: Holly, Heidi, and Joey Hildebrandt; and 4 sisters: Darlene Mortland, Virginia Paul (Joe), Bonnie Hildebrandt, and Debbie Glotzbach.

He is preceded in death by his second wife, Juanita Hildebrandt, and his parents.

Funeral service for Russell will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11AM at Halvroson Taylor Life Events Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Evergreen memorial Gardens. www.halvorsontaylor.com
