Ruth Richmond

Ruth Agnita Richmond, age 101, of Pillager, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at the Woodland Good Samaritan Society in Brainerd. Ruth was born in Eden Valley to Ernest & Cressie Mae (Bridges) VanVickle. She married Burt Richmond in Pillager on August 9, 1937, and together they had 10 children. Ruth worked as a prep cook for Madden’s for 20+ years, retiring when she was 85! Her nickname was “spud”.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Vivian (Butch) Rosekrans, Daryl “Yogi” (Carol Johnson) Richmond, Gloria Rosekrans, Kenneth (Sandy Killian) Richmond, Walter (Sheryl Salvog) Richmond, Edward (Sandy Doucett) Richmond; daughters-in-law, JoAnn Richmond, and Wendy Richmond; 34 grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren; 37 great-great grandchildren.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Cressie VanVickle; 3 brothers; 1 sister; children: Arlyss Marshall, Anice Richmond, Herb Richmond and Wes Richmond; grandchildren: Kevin Richmond, Cammy Rosekrans, and Renate Wiegert; great grandson, Tyrone Marshall.

Funeral service for Ruth will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 1PM at Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center (512 S 8th St, Brainerd). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager. www.halvorsontaylor.com
