Sharon Rea Pohl

Sharon Rea Pohl (77) passed away peacefully at the Staples Care Center on September 25, 2020 of Spinocerebellar Ataxia type 7 (SCA7).

Sharon was born June 2, 1943 in South Dakota. She grew up in Wisconsin before settling in Pine River with her husband Richard (Dick) Pohl and two sons Keith and Kyle. Sharon worked at the Pine River Elementary School for 34 years and at the Driftwood Resort during the summers.

Sharon is survived by her former husband, Richard (Dick) Pohl, son Kyle Pohl, his wife Suz and their son Gavin. Sharon is also survived by her siblings Penny Stark, Peter (Diane) Stengel, Michael (Jean) Stengel, Kathleen (John) Shockey, Robert (Lynn) Stengel and Cindy Cook, as well as sisters-in-law Anita Carpenter and Diane Mattila and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Etha Cook, her brother-in-law, Thomas Stark, her son, Keith, and her grandchildren, Kegan, Bracken and Mearan (Kyle and Suz).

A memorial service for Sharon is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel located in Pequot Lakes, MN.
