Thomas R. Haberer

Thomas Robert Haberer, age 62, of Baxter, MN, received his free pass into Heaven on July 19, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd while surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Paynesville, MN to Robert and AnnaMarie Haberer, and resided most of his adult life at the Oak Ridge group home in Baxter, MN. Tom had a special zest for life which included fishing, camping, traveling and gardening. He was also quite passionate about the work he did at Blue Sky where he made bird houses. For many years he participated in the Special Olympics where he received countless awards. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and also a S.A.L. member of the Nisswa American Legion where he loved to play bingo. Tom’s continual happy attitude touched the hearts of many people, including his father, Robert, who has preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by his mother, AnnaMarie Haberer; sister, Lori (Mark) Carlson; niece, Sydney Vesterstein, and her father Scott; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life for Tom will be held August 1, 2019 at Zion Lutheran with Rev. Paul Biegner officiating. A visitation beginning at 11:00 am, service at 12:00 noon, and a luncheon to follow. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Nisswa. Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home.
