Vyolett L. Sears

Vyolett L. Sears, age 81, formerly of Brainerd, died on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Lakewood Health System Nursing Home, Staples.

Vyolett was born to Conrad and Elsa (Semlar) Kumm on December 10, 1938 in La Crosse, WI. Vyolett married Richard Sears on August 16, 1969. She confessed her faith and was baptized at the age of 29 and remained very active in the church teaching Sunday school, cleaning the church and helping conduct church services at local nursing homes. She was also a member of the Gideon Auxillary. Vyolett was selfless and was the ultimate caregiver running an in- home daycare for many years. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandma, gardening, and canning dill pickles and her special sauerkraut.

Vyolett is survived by her children James Sears, Edward (Dadra) Sears, Suzanne (Daniel) Crick, Mary (Ronald) Robertson, and Frank Sears; sister-in-law, Eunice Kritchman and Ruth Milloch; brother-in-law Clarence (Litta) Sears; 11 grandchildren: 25 great grand grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; brothers, Harry, Kenneth (Louise), and Jerry Kumm; brother-in-law Bob Milloch.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Brainerd. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and for one hour prior to services on Saturday. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
