Wanda M. (Bowers) Peters

Wanda M. Peters, age 79 of Northfield, died peacefully following an extended battle with Alzheimers on Thursday evening, July 30, 2020 at Reflections Care Suites of Northfield.
Wanda Mae, the daughter of Roy and Cloy (Meech) Bowers, was born on November 29, 1940, in Wadena. Wanda attended elementary school in St. Paul and graduated from Cherry High School in Hibbing with the class of 1957. She then enlisted in the United States Army and served two years prior to being Honorably Discharged. In 1960, Wanda was united in marriage to George Peters and they were blessed with two children, Donna and Tim. Wanda was a dedicated homemaker while George was stationed in various locations during his military career. They later divorced and Wanda attended Brainerd Vo-Tech and obtained her LPN Degree and worked at the State Hospital until her retirement. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Wanda was a loving and caring lady, and always had a strong faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her sister, Esther Hanson.
Wanda is survived by her children, Donna (Jerry) Belter and Tim (Carolyn) Peters; grandchildren, Trisha (Cole) Phelps, Sara Belter, Erica (Nick) Boone, Amber (Skylar Jones) Belter, Lexi Peters, Nicole (Brian) Jablonske, Christa (Tom) Reuter, and Zach Henneman; great grandchildren, Maddy Phelps, Ben & Lilly Jablonske, and Jackson & Declan Henneman; brothers, LeRoy (Colleen) Bowers and Hank (Deb) Bowers; and by many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Wanda’s Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Paris Pasch officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the service, and to a reception immediately following there service, all at the funeral home on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Wanda.
