William “Bill” McDonald

William “Bill” McDonald 74-year-old resident of Baxter, MN passed away from cancer on February 5, 2020 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Halvorson Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Bill was born on September 15, 1945 in Grand Rapids, MN to George and Dorothy McDonald. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Susie Creger on August 14, 1964 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Nisswa, MN. He worked as a carpenter in the Brainerd area for 50 years. Bill was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting and fishing with all his boys. He was up on the latest technology with computers, cameras, and guns. Bill will be remembered for his quick wit, and his love to garden and cook.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Susie McDonald; children, Theresa (Ron) Williams, Jess (Tammy) McDonald, James (Chris) McDonald, William McDonald; siblings, Arlene (Alex) Fraser, Jack (Susan) McDonald, Ann (George) Halverson, Susan McDonald, Jaime (Patti) McDonald; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Curtis Heikkenen.
