The city of Brainerd needs you to sign up to be a member of our Community Survey Panel. We currently have 190 people signed up to be panel members, meaning we still need 110 people to sign up if we are to reach our 300 Panel member goal.

The city of Brainerd needs you to sign up to be a member of our Community Survey Panel. We currently have 190 people signed up to be panel members, meaning we still need 110 people to sign up if we are to reach our 300 Panel member goal.

Sign up is easy. To become a member of the panel, visit the city of Brainerd website at www.ci.brainerd.mn.us . Panel member names are completely confidential as are any individual opinions expressed in the surveys.

The city of Brainerd is partnering with Qualtrics, a Provo, Utah, based private research software company to implement a community based survey program. The purpose of which is to obtain your feedback in real time about important issues affecting the city of Brainerd. The information can be used as part of a city comprehensive plan update.

Often the city council only hears from the same people who voice their opinions. Partnering with Qualtrics will provide an opportunity for all citizens to voice their opinion. We will be able to track survey responses and provide the city council with up to date community feedback on important issues.

The core part of the survey is creating the Community Survey Panel consisting of Brainerd residents; however non-residents are encouraged to be members, too. Nonresident survey responses can be compared to resident survey responses to see how opinions of the two groups might differ. Citizens who volunteer are asked to participate in up to 12 surveys over 12 months about issues important to the city of Brainerd.

We will continue to recruit members during August and plan to launch the first survey after Labor Day. If you have already signed up thank you! To all those that have signed up and those that will sign up after reading this letter, ask your spouse, children (over 15), relatives, friends, next door neighbors or anyone else you can think of to sign up. The more panel members we have, the more real data we will have with which to work.

If you have any questions about the survey and/or the Community Survey Panel please contact me at mostgarden@ci.brainerd.mn.us or call me at 218-454-3409
