Laser shows are returning to the planetarium at Forestview Middle School! Come see the music of your favorite classic rock and vinyl, '80s pop, country, and Top 40 artists set to lasers. We are offering three shows daily Feb. 23-25 and again March 2-4. Shows will begin at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. and the cost is $6 per person per show. Watching a laser show in a planetarium setting is a total immersion experience that people can't stop talking about once they've experienced it. For approximately 45 minutes audiences are entertained with eye-popping lasers that dance on the dome in time to music that envelops the listener. Each show is carefully crafted to match the lyrics and music, and crazy looking characters make frequent appearances. The shows are designed to be displayed on a domed surface such as the 27 foot diameter Forestview planetarium.
New this year is the addition of a blue laser. The equipment previously used for these shows featured only red and green lasers. This new color will give the shows a much greater depth of color. If you have been to shows in the planetarium in the past, you will find that this year's shows is a much richer experience.
Another exciting new feature of the planetarium is the new seating installed this past October. They are theater style seats with a high tilted back to maximize comfort and elevate the experience. Fifty-seven seats fill the space.
The proceeds from these laser shows are used to maintain and expand the programming at the planetarium. Because there are relatively few planetariums across the globe, the market for equipment and programming is small and can be quite expensive. Our hope is that the proceeds from these shows can help provide students from Brainerd and surrounding school districts with the unique educational opportunity to study and explore the skies that only a planetarium offers.

The lineup for this year includes nine different shows. They are Laser Retro, Laser Vinyl, Laser Zeppelin, Fright Light, iPop, Laser U2, Laser Country, and Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall." All experience these shows provide will appeal to people of all ages.
