By now, I'm sure most have heard about the Isanti County cop hitting a deer at 114 mph in the dark and likely totaling the squad car. They even put the video online. This conjures up so many questions and possible other outcomes. I can't imagine any scenario that would think this was a good idea. It couldn't have been that important since he obviously didn't make whatever his destination was. Very lucky a car didn't pull out in front of him or some people were out walking.
Sounds like there should be some serious butt-chewing at the precinct. Then in the Monday Star Tribune, the head of customer claims for Farmers Insurance says in that same article that there are things drivers can do. "They should slow down at dawn and dusk when deer are most active." I guess that excludes the police? 114 mph?
